A Rodeo, a Horse Float, and a $211 Taxi Ride
Their love story started unconventionally — just the way we like them. Ben left his office Christmas party in Newcastle and took a $211 taxi ride to Stroud, where Grace had just finished a barrel racing competition. That spontaneous trip turned into something unforgettable. After one night of honest conversation (in a horse float, no less), numbers were exchanged, visits followed, and just like that — Grace never left. Two years later, they celebrated their love surrounded by family, friends, and the soon-to-arrive newest member of their family — a baby boy due in August.
The Setting
Nestled in the lush Hunter Valley, Stonehurst Wines provided the dream backdrop. Both Ben and Grace got ready on-site, just steps apart. “The Gatekeepers” and “The Grove” — the property’s cozy accommodations — saw the pre-wedding jitters, makeup touches, final hugs from parents, and laughter between friends.
Grace, radiant in her Martina Liana gown and glowing at seven months pregnant, had her makeup beautifully done by Alexandra May Pultar from Spritz Lane. The floral touches — lovingly arranged by Grace herself (yes, really!) — brought soft, romantic tones to the day.
The Ceremony
Under the rustic charm of “The Pavilion,” Grace and Ben exchanged vows in front of 12 of their closest bridal party members and two little flower girls. The ceremony, officiated by Holy Matrimonty, was intimate, heartfelt, and filled with genuine emotion.
Immediately after the ceremony, we captured group photos and family portraits — the kind of memories that only grow more valuable with time.
Golden Hour & Wine Cellars
The bridal shoot unfolded across the Stonehurst grounds. With rolling vineyards, heritage structures, and that late afternoon Hunter Valley light — the setting made magic effortless.
Then came the reception — hosted in the wine cellar just 30 meters from the ceremony space. Guests were seated by 5:20 PM, and the celebration began with heartfelt speeches, music by DJ Calicious, and the sweet scent of desserts wafting from the dessert table.
At 7:30 PM, a small cake — baked with love by the bride and her maid of honor — was cut. Then came a touching father-daughter dance followed by Ben and Grace’s first dance as husband and wife.
A Sparkle-Filled Ending
The night ended with laughter, dancing, a bouquet and garter toss, and the sparkle of an Exit Tunnel sendoff. And in the quiet moments between it all, we captured the essence of something truly timeless — the way Ben looks at Grace, the way Grace laughs with her hand resting on her bump, the way love evolves.
